Most of you know the classic rpg classes:Warrior, wizard, thief. Strength,Intelligence and Agility
But which one do you like?
Strength? (Warrior,paladin,barbarian,...)
Intelligence? (Wizard,cleric,warlock,druid,necromancer...)
Or agility? (Thief,archer,assasin...)
Personally I like some mixture of warrior/archer hybird. Im a realist in person and I just cant enjoy being a spellcaster

If I get a choice of a hybrid of a spellcaster + a more physical class, like mage + swordsman or mage + ranger, I will always choose that option every time

3 Name: Anonymage : 2015-10-11 15:15 [Del]

Intelligence + agility without a doubt.

Wizard no joke. Nothing has ever beaten the feeling of controlling immense magical power, and fucking around with it for me. Creative uses of power are also something I love, tunneling through a dungion by destroying and reforming the walls, creating crazy combinations of spells to do something totally unintended in the game, all of that I love it.

I have a made up class in my head which is a hunter/ranger type class but without an animal, they use one or two swords and maybe a bow, light to medium armor and they are kind of like Aragorn from LOTR. Adept at hunting, survival and scouting, and basically an edgy outcast/loner.

Merchant. If that's not possible, I generally default to a wizard.

I always learned towards intelligence or agility, never strength. Hunter/Archer classes are my favorite.

Healer is always my first choice in any MMO I play, and of course the pure high intelligence to boost my mana and healing power. I like healing because their are few of them, so we're always in need. It's an easy way to build a party and learn new skills, also I like having people depend on me. If I die, everyone dies, and I can also systematically choose who to save or who to let die, gaining the same powers as a god of death, but in the name of holiness hahaha.

I choose diverseness, because otherwise I'll be bored very quickly. I like multiclasses like fighter/mage/thief so I'll have as many options as possible, even though this kind of playstyle requires a lot of investing before it will be viable.

I don't play these kinds of game often (Just Demon's and Dark Souls, really) but I'd go with Paladin every time, or the closest thing to it. Yeah.

I love playing some kind of wizard that has low HP but a huge mana pool so you get a spell like mana shield, I fucking love mana shield, that's the coolest spell ever thought of, think diablo 1 wizard, with teleports and tomes and such

A hybrid Warrior/Healer.

For example when I was playing Dark Souls 2 I would go for a build that had high Strength and high Faith.

Use magic to heal, use swords to kill.

Having high Faith, using swords enchanted with Lightning was nice too.

I enjoy all of them equally, but always start with a playthrough of a warrior, then a wizard, and then a rogue.

What's the rpg with the best magic system in your opinions?

15 Name: Anonymage : 2015-10-14 00:18 [Del]

I like Baldur's Gate 2. Time Stop, Wish, Chain Contingency, Project Image, Simulacrum and other spells really shows how powerful wizards can be.
Also Morrowind. Even without abusing alchemy you can create whatever spell with whatever effect you'd like. That's very cool and powerful feature. Magic spells there are also cool. You can levitate, you can jump into space, you can cast mass paralysis and pretend it's a Time Stop, etc. You restricted only to your imagination and mana pool, really.
Also I really like Planescape: Torment for visual effects and sound direction. You really feel that you're using immense arcane power. Even though they didn't port all powerful spells from BG, it's still pretty good.

If you want the most pure example of magic with no limits, probably Pathfinder where mid-level wizards are abusing pocket dimensions for all sorts of shenanigans and barely denting their casting limits while doing so.

>>11 I wish we had mana shields in real life

>>12. So a cleric?

19 Name: Anonymage : 2019-08-19 04:07 [Del]

if the game is really really hard, i end up going a mage to cheese my way through battles exploiting aoe spells and weird game mechanics

if the game is playable without strategy or deep thinking, i go as the huge armored shield user and tank fights. the goal is usually always to get as much hp, defense, and restoratives as possible so i cannot die in any circumstance

Freedom is overrated. China is outcompeting the US and they are socialist. US has proven themselves that democracy is good for nothing. Look at the state of your country, you're descending into
third-world conditions. China is going to overtake US's position as the world's first in economic output.

I always play stealth classes, it just fits my risk-averse nature.

I'm a brainlet, so I prefer to play tank-characters in games simply because it, generally, allows me to brute-force my way through difficult content without too much stress or anxiety. It's good to have a large HP pool when you're prone to fuck ups. It's also nice to be able to hit people with sharp and/or heavy objects without having to put too much forethought into it. In a world that constantly demands caution, diligence and politeness(read: supplicating normies) it's downright cathartic play as a belligerent brute.

I normally experiment with different classes during replays of games I've completed once already, since I feel more confident with the mechanics and enemies so I don't feel the need to have a large health pool as retardation insurance.

Whatever the caveman is in nethack. (++STR -others?) In fantasy settings I like ogres and giants.

I like pure brawler characters mostly 'cos you don't have to manage weapons and stuff like that. Just simple fighting, punch my way through everything. >>28

Does anyone get the feeling that the Uniparty has been bought off by the elites?
