Anyone else refelt the feeling of connectivity through the internet from /text/? (19)

It feels comforting and renewing in some sort of way just discussing various topics without any stupid or unnecessary reaction images . I feel like I had just discovered the internet once again.

I can't really explain it.

It will encourage the revival of shitty ASCII art.

I would rather have smug anime girls rather than that.

If anything things will get worse.

I like it.
Let's all agree to make 10 posts a day. Have you met your quota yet?

more human, suited to speculative things and fleshing out a decidedly different lain-y internet artifact heritage. Best browsed with a nice warm coffee or at least some warm honey tea

I bet we'll have outposted 4-ch in a week. Fuck those bastards

Personally I enjoy anachronisms more than I should. Though I think it's a sort of thing that a lot of people are into, there are those who still use tube amps and vinyl records, those who type on type writers, those who still use vintage cars. It's a very human, or at least enthusiast, thing to enjoy what has gone out of style or been left by the wayside by "progress".

I like it for the reasons others have said. It also feels more easy-going, but maybe that's just how I'm interpreting things.
I don't even know if I had 10 posts on it's first day. I wish I had things to talk about, but there isn't anything I care about enough to form strong opinions or learn more about it.

This, I like the aesthetic of older things. I like having the ability to use older hardware and software to escape the malicious features of mega-corps. It's almost like a tranquility of sorts.

Just text is so much nicer on my eyes.

Hopefully ASCII art counts as shitposting.

I always wanted a text board, but I do miss feels.

Wew lad.

I'm going to ask nicely: can you refrain from including those shitty 4chan memes in your post? I "ask" because obviously I can't make you stop. I don't like it very much and it makes me uncomfortable because it's associated with so many other horrible things. I'm just asking you to consider doing that. Don't take this post as combative or anything; it's just a simple request and if you can oblige to my wishes then thank you.

Yeah, it does bring back some nostalgia.
It's mostly the format, I think. If you have nothing but text to convey, you'll put your thoughts and feelings into each word. There's no way to see what a post is about until you read it, either.
Even this basic level of intellectual engagement has been squeezed out of the online world.

But there's also the people. Wizards are great. We've been online long enough to get sick of what the internet turned into. What was once the hope for democracy, the egalitarianism of information and ideas has become an advertising pipe. Sad.

I like it this way, powered by simple software with zero clutter. Also wish Wizchan in its 'No images' mode would hide all its images, not just the uploads thumbnails.

Browsing /text/ using lynx (terminal only broswer) using cheap computer and mechanical keyboard only. Feels great man...

I love ASCII art. It is why Dwarf Fortress is great.

Does anyone get the feeling that the Smollett, free college, and Epstein stories are just diversions from the real issues of debt, wars, and the police state?

There is so much evidence that the USA is collapsing now that you can't ignore it, but no one does a damn thing.

Something epic is coming like the French Revolution, US Revolution, the Civil War, WWII, or the Soviet collapse.

There is no serious effort to end the wars, reduce the debt, or restore the Bill of Rights. The elites are getting everything they want and the 99% don't care.

Maybe there is no hope, but one wonders if Americans cannot at least make an effort to think of solutions or wake people up so that they can prepare instead of just waiting for a spark that leads to collapse.

Can't anyone say anything?

Why not print up bumper stickers, pass out flyers, protest, go on hunger strikes, rent billboards, or make a website?

Couldn't there be a free market solution to the collapse? Couldn't there be mass awakening? Shouldn't freedom go viral?

The US feels like it is committing suicide.

The elites control Wall Street, Hollywood, the media, and the government.

Globalists wanting to destroy the USA with wars, welfare, debt, illegal immigrants, and tyranny is one thing, but Americans who just accept this are another.

What if every conversation, book, movie, news story, bumper sticker, website, and song was about the collapse?

Would Americans wake up, protest, prepare, buy guns and gold, and resist or would Americans just become jaded and do nothing?

Is surrender the answer to tyranny?
